The second option is to take their express transportation, which takes you directly to and from your resort with little to no wait. The last time I took Mears Connect, it took me over an hour and a half to reach Port Orleans: Riverside, so fair warning if you’re using this and planning on making a late lunch or dinner reservation on the day of your arrival. Unlike Disney’s Magical Express though, Mears Connect makes stops at hotels that aren’t on Disney property, extending the time it takes you to get to your resort. Like its predecessor, Mears Connect is a 24/7 shuttle service that picks you up at either the Main Terminal or Terminal C at Orlando International Airport (or MCO as we cool kids call it). If you bring your own breakfast and snacks, then you can cut down on your expenses dramatically. That being said, you can probably get away with spending anywhere from $150-$200 on food per day for a family of four, and this is probably being generous. I’d recommend bringing at least an additional $500 for one of those meals for a family of four. If you’re planning on eating at fancy restaurants, like California Grill, Be Our Guest, or Yachtsman Steakhouse, then, yes, you’re going to want to budget ahead of time. However, this figure is just an estimate. As such, I’d recommend a family of four bringing at least an additional $2,000 – $3,000 in cash for expenses during their five-day trip.
